Adventures from the Book of Virtues is an animated television series which originally aired on PBS Kids in the United States for three seasons, beginning in 1996 and ending in 2000. There was a two-year gap in between the second and third seasons. The show stopped airing on September 7, 2003 on WITF; in its place was aired the new show Jakers! The Adventures of Piggley Winks. The website was retired in November 2005.

Zach and Annie learn various life lessons from their friends Plato the bison, Aurora the red-tailed hawkAristotle the prairie dog, and Socrates the bobcat. These lessons are told in the form of animated segments based on stories from a variety of sources including the Bible, fairy tales, fables, mythology, and folk stories from different cultures.

Animated Stories from the Bible is a video series produced by Nest Family Entertainment and Rich Animation Studios.

The series is non-sectarian and features twelve beloved stories from the Hebrew Bible. The episodes have been reviewed by an Advisory Board including Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein (Founder of the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews), Nathan Hatch (president of Wake Forest University and previously provost of the University of Notre Dame), Reg Grant (professor of pastoral ministries of the Dallas Theological Seminary) and Christian apologist, Ed Decker.

The Greatest Adventure: Stories from the Bible is a direct-to-video series produced by Hanna-Barbera that tells of three young adventurers who travel back in time to watch biblical events take place. The series ran from 1985 to 1993 for 13 episodes.

Overview

Derek and Margo, two young archaeologists, are on a dig accompanied by "their nomad friend", a boy named Moki. They come across a door in an ancient ruin that turns out to be a portal through time. Though the introduction is the same in all videos, each episode sends the trio into a different story from the Bible. They often interact with characters from the story, but rarely have any significant effect upon the plot.

In the Beginning: The Bible Stories (手塚治虫の旧約聖書物語 Tezuka Osamu no Kyūyaku Seisho Monogatari?, lit. Osamu Tezuka's Old Testament Stories) is an anime television series based on The Bible's Hebrew Scriptures (Old Testament) created by Osamu Tezuka

In the Beginning marked the fourth time Bible stories formed the basis of a Japanese-animated television series, following the two Superbook series and The Flying House, which were made for Pat Robertson's Christian Broadcasting Network by Tatsunoko Production in the early 1980s.

Superbook, also known as Animated Parent and Child Theatre (アニメ 親子劇場 Anime Oyako Gekijō?), is an anime television series initially produced by Tatsunoko Productions in Japan in conjunction with the Christian Broadcasting Network in the United States and more recently solely produced by CBN for global distribution and broadcast.

The series chronicled the events of the Bible's Old and New Testaments in its 52 episode run. The first 26 episodes aired from October 1, 1981 to March 29, 1982. Between the two series in the first run was the companion series The Flying House. The Christian Broadcasting Network is producing a new Superbook series and has released twenty episodes.

The Flying House, known in Japan as Tondera Hausu no Daibōken (トンデラハウスの大冒険?, Adventures of the Flying House), is a 52 episode anime series produced by Tatsunoko Productions broadcast between April 1982 and March 1983 on TV Tokyo,[1] and distributed by the Christian Broadcasting Network in the United States. In 2010, the Christian Broadcasting Network made the 52 episodes available for viewing online.[2]

Currently, reruns of the show are broadcast on a local Christian television channel in Florida, "Good Life 45".

The Story Keepers is an animated Christian video series produced by Zondervan from 1995 to 1997 in America and Ireland. It tells the story of a Christian leader and his family's adventures living in Ancient Rome whose mission is to keep Jesus's stories alive during the 1st century. The series consists of thirteen episodes, and features two full-length movies that are compilations of the last four episodes.

Testament: The Bible in Animation was a 1996 animated series produced by Sianel 4 Cymru (Welsh). It featured animated versions of stories from the Bible, each story using its own unique style of animation, including stop-motion animation. It ran for two seasons in the United Kingdom and won one Emmy, with three nominations, in the United States. It also includes the song "Adiemus" as its intro.

The Torchlighters: Heroes of the Faith is an award-winning video series produced by International Films, The Voice of the Martyrs, and Christian History Institute. The series features stories of heroes and heroines of the Christian faith.According to the producer, a Torchlighter is "one who commits to serving God and passing on the light of the Gospel even when the going gets tough." Torchlighters videos are 30-minute animated DVDs aimed toward 3rd to 8th graders. Each video also contains 30 or more minutes of documentary or other features at an adult level, which some reviewers have described as more valuable than the animated story
